Level 1. Facial Massage for Beauty Enhancement & Contour Sculpting

This course is open to Massage Therapists, Medical Estheticians or other Healthcare Professional.

It is a one day Workshop style course designed to prepare you for Level 3 Sculpting and is a pre-requisite for being eligible to participate in Level 3. Sculpting. It focusing on teaching how to perform a therapeutic facial massage for the purposes of beauty enhancement and facial contouring using external hands-on techniques. These are taught according to the principles of Buccal Facial Intra-Oral Massage as created by Maureen Hannah Maher, Esthetician, Osteopath and Massage Therapist and is therefore not a typical facial massage class.

You will learn a how to perform a complete Multi-Zone Facial Massage Protocol with an emphasis on lymphatic drainage and activate weak and sagging muscles, both of which are the foundational principles when the goal is to sculpt and redefine facial features. You will learn how to incorporate these principles into a facial massage which prepares you learn how to perform the more advanced intra-oral Buccal Facial Sculpting techniques taught in Level 2 and Level 3.

All materials are provided including a copy of the Workbook. You will need to arrange for 2 female volunteers for afternoon group practice (either one your own or through us). Please read our Registration Policies before enrolling.

It is recommended to take this course at least one month before the next course in Buccal Facial Sculpting Massage or Buccal Facial Massage for TMJ and to practice your skills in preparation for learning more advanced techniques. It takes time and practice to learn Maureen's unique approach to facial sculpting which is based on her 25 years of experience and combined advanced principles of functional anatomy of the face, lymphatic, muscle groups, massage principles, muscle activation, Chinese medicine and manual osteopathic principles. Upon completion of this course, participation in Level 3 is based upon the approval of the Instructor. For this reason, the approach you will learn and the skills you will acquire in this intensive one day course is an essential pre-requisite for being eligible to participate in Level 3 Sculpting.

If you are an RMT with prior training and experience in facial massage for TMJ or other pain related issues, are you eligible to take this class without taking Level 1. If you are a Health Practitioner and have no experience in direct hands-on facial massage for TMJ or facial pain you must take Level 1. as a pre-requisite to participate. If you do not have prior training in offering a complete 30-45 minute facial massage you must take Level 1 prior to being eligible for Level 2.

This is a two day intensive course where you will learn the anatomy and physiology of various forms of TMJ dysfunction as well as Trigeminal Nerve Facial Pain.
Being able to identify the specifics of various forms of facial pain will determine your Buccal Intra-Oral Massage Protocols as created by Maureen Hannah Maher, Esthetician, Cranial Osteopath & Massage Therapist. The mornings are dedicated to theory learning and demonstrations and the afternoons are devoted to group hands-on practice of the Intra-Oral Massage Technique Approach as created by Maureen Hannah Maher, Esthetician, Osteopath and Massage Therapist. Maureen is the Author of several Workbooks and courses in Cranial Osteopathy and Buccal Facial Sculpting Massage.

This is a 3 day intensive course is for Estheticians and Massage Therapists with an interest and aptitude for Holistic Beauty Enhancement.
​
In this course you will learn how to sculpting facial contours and lift weak areas to provide visible results in firming jawlines, lifting cheekbones effect, creating a prettier mouth and more chiseled facial contours according to principles of lymphatic drainage, muscle activation, Chinese medicine acupuncture points, and osteopathic principles, as created by Maureen Hannah Maher, Esthetician, Osteopath, Massage Therapist for over twenty years.
You should have an eye for identifying visual details and a desire to work with clients whose goals are facial sculpting and beauty enhancement. This course teaches a highly advanced approach to using intra-oral massage techniques to drain lymph and activate muscle groups with the goals of redefining facial contours for the purposes of wither anti-aging or beauty enhancement.

You will also learn how to price your services according to your local market research, and how to incorporate Buccal Facial Sculpting Massage into your service menu. You will also be provided with a complete multi-step Client Consultation to take the guesswork out of the client management aspect of this luxury, high-end service.

Our in person course is an advanced class designed to be Workshop style, with lots of hands on one-on-one time with your Instructor and a maximum of 6 - 8 students. These classes are mostly held at our Training Center in Montreal with occasional courses in Toronto based on demand. Class participants must be experienced Estheticians with recent facial massage experience and are required to demonstrate a high degree of professional maturity and ability to follow hygiene procedures that are necessary for intra-oral techniques.
Participants will also need a practice model in the afternoon for all three days. If travelling from outside Montreal to attend this class and need help finding practice models, please contact us for help in securing practice models after you have ensured you meet the eligibility criteria and have registered.

Our Registration Policies for In-Person Classes
All students are responsible for ensuring that you have arranged to have a live practice models for the afternoon of your class, either by brining your own volunteer or coordinating finding one through us if available. We do advertise for volunteer models, but we do not guarantee providing every student with volunteer models for each practice session. It is ultimately the students responsibility to ensure they are able to participate fully in the group practice sessions. It is the students' responsibility to coordinate directly with their practice models to ensure the volunteer is an appropriate choice, has no major contra-indications (ex. contagious illness, nervous conditions, mobility issues, ect) you have agreed together what day and time they will be volunteering, and have read and signed the Informed Consent form (if appropriate) which they must bring with them. If you are travelling from out of town to Montreal and have been unable to recruit models, please contact us for assistance, if possible. Online registration for practice models begins two weeks before a class starts. You must ask your volunteer to sign up on this webpage once they are arranged. Male volunteers are not appropriate for the three day course in Buccal Facial Sculpting. For further information, contact the instructor after you have registered.

Students must prove basic proficiency of protocols, techniques, comply with all hygiene standards and demonstrate a high degree of professional judgement and professional behavior to be eligible for a Certificate of Completion. If a student attend the entire course but is unable to prove proficiency in all previous mentioned aspects, they will receive a written attestation that they can use to claim CEU hours.
Professional and respectful conduct and adherence to all hygiene protocols is required at all times. Our Instructors reserve the right to remove a student whose behavior is unprofessional or is disrespectful to the models, other students, or Instructor with no refund provided. Please plan to arrive healthy, well rested, and ready to learn and practice within a respectful, collaborative environment. In keeping with our policies of mutual respect, pictures can only be taken with the expressed consent of both the Instructor and the model, and no video recording of teaching or practice sessions is allowed.

Students who enroll using our partial payment plan are responsible for ensuring that their second payment is made in full no later than two weeks before the class starts. Because of the small number of students accepted in these classes, we do not refund enrollments to students who default on any of the above terms since once you register that space has been reserved for you. Arrangements can be made, however, to attend a future class if urgent personal or medical circumstances prevent you from attending a course for which you are registered. A doctor's note or of personal emergency is required.

By enrolling in one of our classes, you are agreeing to our above mentioned policies and understand that a willful disregard for the above will result in the students being asked to leave the course with no refund provided.

Once a Practitioner studies with us, they assume all professional and legal responsibility for how our course material is implemented in their studio, practice or clinic. It is always the responsibility of the Practitioner to ensure they meet any legal or practical requirements of their association, if pertinent, when implementing any new techniques taught in a continuing education course.

What is included in the enrollment fee for Levels 2 and 3 in person course in Buccal Facial Massage?

1) A copy of the full color Workbook containing images facial muscle groups, facial lymphatic system, as well as close up images of every technique taught in the course with detailed step by step explanations authored by your Instructor, Maureen "Hannah" Maher.

2) A jar of organic coconut oil to use during class for hands-on practice and along with disposable gloves, and everythign else you will need to practice giving treatments.
3) An assortment of facial oils for different skin types and explanations of how to chose facial massage oils according to skin type to better personalize your treatments, even if you are not an expert on skin types.
4) A synthetic doll face to practice locating facial muscles and lymphatic system and to take home afterwards for further practice

5) Template of forms with step by step instructions to use during your New Client Consultation to ensure your clients is happy and becomes a return customer, as well as a Client Intake & Health History Form template that you can use in your clinic/spa.
